As an Australian affiliate marketer, I’m disappointed that there really aren’t any real affiliate marketing conferences in Australia. But there are options!
Today I’ll be sharing some marketing conferences that not only touch on affiliate marketing, but share many characteristics where you’ll find value. Heck – you might actually find new opportunities by meeting fellow marketers in person!
Australia’s list of affiliate seminars
I’m one of Australia’s top affiliate marketers. For that reason, I’ve been to quite a few conferences, seminars and workshops in my time, and
Some of them are pitch-fests whilst others are full of content. Generally, those with lots of content also charge a high ticket price too. That way, the selling has been done upfront. But this isn’t always the case.
Digital Marketers Australia
Run by Stephen Esk, DMA launched in 2019 and is set to make a big pounce in Australia in 2020. In fact, if the 2019 Melbourne event was anything to go by, I’ll be impressed once again!
This isn’t a pitch-fest and the tickets are reasonably priced. 80% of the audience has their own agency or eCommerce storefront. I felt it was a good calibre of people with a touch of blackhat magic. Ha! All in all, one of the best conferences in Australia by far.
Matt and Liz Raad
These guys are practically the only people who are teaching affiliate marketing in
This weekend can be very helpful and is ideal for the complete beginner. The caliber of people is completely different to Digital Marketers Australia, with almost all of the attendees having jobs and creating their side gig. There is also some upselling.
Success Resources Events
If you’re looking for a total pitch-fest, then this is it. Well, not really. They do bring some high calibre people to Australia, including Gary Vaynerchuk. Several events are run each year, with 1 larger and 2 smaller events generally across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
I only ever bought one course at this event, which was, coincidently, a course on affiliate marketing! It was initially a reluctant purchase too, but guess where I make 80% of my income today. 🙂 Go along to one of these events to see NLP and selling from the stage at its finest.
I recently attended WordCamp in Brisbane which currently takes the title of Australia’s biggest WordCamp event. I imagine that it’s simply harder to run events in Sydney, given the pricing and transport difficulties.
This is another non-pitch fest event. There isn’t too much covered on Australian affiliate marketing. Now, since 99% of people are running on WordPress for their content creation, it’s worthwhile adding here. Whilst only $50 to attend, the sessions weren’t so ground-breaking but represent good value for a day out.
I understand that this list is of Australian seminars for affiliate marketers, but there is so little, unfortunately. Clearly, quite a large gap in the marketplace, but also, perhaps because our population generally isn’t the entrepreneurship type.
But luckily, we have some close options:
- Affiliate World Asia in Thailand (direct flight)
- Traffic and Conversion Summit in San Diego (almost a direct flight)
- Funnel Hacking Live in Nashville, TN (a long way but worth it)
I’ve listed this in order of recommendation for beginners. You could potentially make a holiday out of Affiliate World Thailand, since its almost-always in December.
I would highly recommend getting along to some affiliate events. This journey is quite the lonely one otherwise, and a key reason why many people quit.
I should know – I’ve built Australia’s #1 blog in the Amazon FBA selling space. You could say that I’ve learned a thing or two over the years, including how to deal with trolls!
At such events, y
